Itinerary of the 5-Day Marrakech to Fes Desert Tour
Day 1 : Marrakech → Ait Ben Haddou → Dades Valley
Depart Marrakech in the morning and climb the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260m) through the High Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed fortified village (ksar) famous for its appearances in Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Continue through Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Morocco,” and into the Dades Valley, known for its rose gardens and rock formations. Overnight in a guesthouse in the Dades Gorge.
Day 2 :Dades Valley → Todra Gorge → Merzouga
Drive through the dramatic Todra Gorge, with its towering 300-meter limestone cliffs, then continue across the desert plains and palm oases toward Merzouga, gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes. In the late afternoon, mount your camel for a guided sunset trek into the Sahara, ending at a traditional Berber camp where you’ll spend the night under a blanket of stars, with dinner and live music around the campfire.
Day 3 : Merzouga → Sahara Desert → Erfoud → Midelt → Ifrane → Fes
Wake up early for sunrise over the dunes before riding back to Merzouga by camel. Freshen up, then begin the long, scenic drive north through Erfoud (fossil town), the Ziz Valley, the cedar forests around Midelt, and the Swiss-style mountain town of Ifrane, before arriving in Fes in the evening.

Day 4: Fes — Guided City Tour

Day 5: Departure from Fes
